A small, focused company with long careers in freight rolling stock. We don't pitch. We deliver.
Vagotech is the rolling stock partner for companies that move goods on corridor railways worldwide. We provide the wagons, the maintenance, and the operational intelligence — so you can focus on your core business. Founded in 1989 and operating for over 35 years — previously as DAXI — Vagotech brings deep European supply chain relationships and hands-on field experience across Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
Vagotech was established in 1989 — operating for many years as DAXI before relaunching under its current name in 2025. The mission has not changed: to fill the gap between large OEMs who require minimum 50-wagon orders and local workshops that lack the engineering depth for complex briefs. Corridor operators, mining companies, construction contractors, and industrial clients in Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia regularly face technical complexity and capital decisions that neither option handles well.
We operate from Belgium — a useful base for European suppliers, regulatory bodies, and development finance institutions — and work internationally. Our team has experience across African, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian railway systems. We are open to projects structured under World Bank, EBRD, ADB, Credendo, or bilateral development finance frameworks — and our team is equipped for export finance and project finance discussions."
We take on a limited number of projects at any one time. The people you meet at the start of an engagement are the people who do the work. When we're at capacity, we say so.
Our longer-term ambition is a recurring lease business — owning and deploying a modular chassis fleet across multiple corridors and gauges, funded entirely from operating cash flow. The special projects and parts work runs alongside and funds the build-out. Wagons that never stand still.
We are developing proprietary wagon technology for flexible, multi-gauge deployment — not yet public, but operators and investors who want to understand what we're building are welcome to reach out directly.
We don't manufacture wagons and we don't take supplier commissions. We recommend what's right for the project — not what earns us the best margin.
We take on work we can do well. When a project is outside our depth or our capacity is full, we say so. Quality over volume.
Railway projects take years. We structure ourselves for long-term partnerships — not one-off transactions. Our clients come back because the advice has been sound.
